Reading

How do I read?

Open the Bible tab. Each screen shows one verse. Swipe up for the next verse and down for the one before. Tap the screen to show or hide the controls.

How do I change the translation or the book?

Tap the screen to show the controls. At the top, tap the translation to choose KJV, BSB, WEB, or BBE, or tap the book to go to another book and chapter.

How do I save a verse or write a note?

Tap the screen, then tap the save or note button on the right. To see your saved verses and notes, open Home and tap Saved or Notes. They are stored only on your iPhone, so they are lost if you delete the app.

How do I change the text size or the theme?

On Home, tap the settings button. Choose Regular or Large under Text size, and System, Dark, or Light under Appearance.

Deep study

What is Deep study?

Tap the lime button on a verse. Choose Simply (what the verse means), Word roots (key Hebrew and Greek words with Strong's numbers), In depth (background and context), or Cross-references (related verses). Compare translations shows the verse in all four translations.

Who writes the studies?

An AI model writes each study the first time someone opens it, and Scribe saves it for every reader. Studies are study aids and can contain mistakes. Check them against Scripture. See the Terms of Use.

A study does not open

Studies need an internet connection the first time. Check your connection and try again. A study that you opened before also opens offline. If it still fails, email us the verse and the study type.

Scribe Premium

What is free?

Reading, Compare translations, saved verses, notes, reminders, and Remember are free. Your first study is free. Scribe Premium opens every study.

How do I restore my subscription?

Open Settings and tap Restore purchases. Use the same Apple ID that you used to subscribe.

How do I cancel?

Open iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Scribe, and tap Cancel Subscription. You can also open Scribe's Settings › Manage Scribe Premium. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or the current period ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments. Ask for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Reminders

How do I set or stop the daily reminder?

Open Settings › Notifications and choose a time, or turn the reminder off. If no reminders come, check that notifications for Scribe are on in iPhone Settings › Notifications.

Will Scribe remind me before my trial ends?

If you chose a trial reminder on the subscription screen and notifications are on, Scribe shows a reminder on your iPhone before the trial ends. The reminder does not cancel the trial.

How does Remember work?

Tap the keyboard button on a verse, or tap Practice on Home. Each verse has three rounds:

1. The verse is in view. Type every letter.
2. Every second word is hidden. Type the first letter of each word.
3. Every word is hidden. Type the first letter of each word from memory.

You do not type spaces, capitals, or punctuation. Each round gives one star if you needed help on at most one word in ten.

The keyboard closed

Tap the verse. The keyboard opens again.

Privacy and your data

How do I start over?

Open Settings and tap Start over. This deletes your reading place, Remember progress, and settings. It keeps saved verses, notes, and studies, and it does not cancel a subscription. You cannot undo it.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the app to remove all data on your iPhone. To delete the data that our service providers hold, email us. See the Privacy Policy.
