Terms of Use

These terms apply to the Scribe app from Xuan Tung ("we", "us"). If you use Scribe, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Apple's Standard License Agreement for Licensed Applications (EULA) also applies to Scribe. If these terms and Apple's EULA are different, these terms apply, to the extent the EULA permits. Apple is not responsible for Scribe or for support.

What Scribe does

Scribe shows the Bible one verse at a time. You can compare translations, save verses, write notes, set a daily reminder, learn verses by heart with Remember, and open AI-written studies of a verse with Deep study. You can use Scribe on your devices for personal, non-commercial purposes. Do not use it in a way that breaks the law, and do not copy, resell, or try to break the app or its server.

Scribe Premium

Reading, Compare translations, saved verses, notes, reminders, and Remember are free. Your first study is free. Scribe Premium opens every study while your subscription is active.

• Scribe Premium is an auto-renewing subscription. The app shows each plan's price and billing period before you buy. Apple confirms the final price in its payment sheet.
• A plan can start with a free trial if the App Store says you are eligible. When the trial ends, the subscription starts and Apple charges your Apple ID, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
• The subscription renews automatically at the same price and for the same period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges your Apple ID within 24 hours before the period ends.
• To cancel, open iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Scribe, or Scribe's Settings › Manage Scribe Premium. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
• Apple handles payments and refunds. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com.
• To restore a subscription on a new device, tap Settings › Restore purchases, with the same Apple ID.
• A trial reminder is a local notification that needs notifications to be on. It is a convenience, not a cancellation service. You are responsible for cancelling in time.
• Settings › Start over does not cancel a subscription. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

AI studies

The studies in Deep study (Simply, Word roots, In depth, and Cross-references) are written by an AI model (OpenAI's GPT-4o mini, through OpenRouter). They are study aids. They can contain mistakes, including wrong history, wrong word meanings, or wrong Strong's numbers, and they can show one reading of a verse where Christians disagree. They are not Scripture and are not a substitute for reading the Bible itself, or for advice from a pastor, priest, or other qualified person. Check what you read against Scripture.

Scribe shows these translations:

• King James Version (KJV), 1769 text. Public domain in the United States. In the United Kingdom, rights in the KJV are held by the Crown.
• Berean Standard Bible (BSB). The Holy Bible, Berean Standard Bible, BSB is produced in cooperation with Bible Hub, Discovery Bible, OpenBible.com, and the Berean Bible Translation Committee. This text of God's Word has been dedicated to the public domain.
• World English Bible (WEB). Public domain. "World English Bible" is a trademark of eBible.org. Scribe shows the text without changes to its words.
• Bible in Basic English (BBE), 1965, S. H. Hooke. Public domain in the United States.

Remember

Remember checks what you type against the verse. Stars and runs are a study aid, not a test result.

No warranty

Scribe is supplied "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind, to the extent the law permits. We do not promise that the app or its studies have no errors or are always available.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damage that comes from your use of the app, including loss of data such as your notes or progress. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law in your country gives you and that cannot be changed by contract.

Changes

We can change the app and these terms. If the terms change, we publish the new version on this page with a new effective date.

Governing law

The laws of Vietnam govern these terms, except where the consumer law of your country requires otherwise.
